Comments: The price is right to get into a 29" bike. Its lighweight and rides great on paved or casual trails. Do NOT get this bike if you do down hill often. The hard tail gets loose and bouncy on rocks and roots. That being said I rode two black diamond trails this weekend and it held up great even with a couple harsh wrecks. I am having some shifting issues with my gears(prior to this weekend) but not sure that its a problem specific to this bike or even Giant. The factory pedals are garbage, so replace those asap. I think its a good bike for what it is and I'm glad I made the choice. The guys at [...] are great. Knowledgeable and friendly. Can't get much better.

Comments: Rode the Talon for the first time today on a 12 mile rooty hilly trail in Michigan. 29" wheels make for a much better ride and great control over drops. Would recommend an upgrade fron a 26" wheeled bike, you won't believe the difference!

Comments: I have always KINDA been a bike rider but just everyonce and a while. Last summer (2010) really started to get into it. I had a Giant Iguana, old mountain bike, but it was great...I thought...I was riding all the time, just about everyday, starting to push myself and finally decided to step it up. With help from a friend and the people at Bike Habitat, I wanted a 29er but didn't want to spend too much. This was a great mid price and WOW, I love this bike. I ride it more and more and love it. I'm not a pro so I can't compare it to other bikes, but from what I was riding, this is awesome. I'll be upgrading a few things, like tires, but it's been great. Makes me feel like a pro!!!
